At the age of 17, Ahmad began his cricket career at Rashid Latif Academy. But made his Twenty20 debut for Karachi Kings on 10 February 2017 at the 2017 Pakistan Super League.
He later made his official debut on 20 November 2020, for Sindh, in the 2020–21 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. Soon after, he was called into the Pakistan Shaheens squad for their tour of Sri Lanka in October 2021.
